Guatemala 2016: Ladder Rigging

Veteran team members Jason Jordan and Chuck Webb taught ladder rigging. The primary goal of their training was to teach the Rescate trainees to use the ladder-as-a-derrick technique. This particular technique can be extremely applicable for many of their emergency situations where a patient needs to be rescued from a cliff or ravine. In the process of learning how to set up the ladder-as-a-derrick they also learned how to properly set a ladder as an individual and install a picket system as a portable anchor. Another technique was taught to be able to use a Stokes basket hinge as a way to evacuate immobilized people or patients. This system is designed to rescue multiple people or patients without resetting the equipment.
